It’s All Here To Love: Transforming Our Wounds into Wisdom

When life appears to be going "wrong" or we are left feeling confused or disappointed with how our life is unfolding, often we begin to believe that there must be something wrong with us and therefore, there is something that needs fixing. And so the search begins. We venture into the world of personal development and Spirituality looking for all the ways to fix what we perceive as broken. We search. We read. We take classes. We receive healings. We meditate. We pray. We try our best to think positive.

All of this is helpful, but if we are doing them with the underlying belief that we are flawed in some way because we can’t seem to get “it” right, we will be lead down a road can that leads us in circles never to reach a destination that feels authentically fulfilling and true to our soul. Believing that there is something to fix within us or some destination that we need to reach outside of us only continues to take us further away from the truth of who we are and keeps us falling into the trap of self-judgment and shame. This occurs because under all the attempts of striving to fix or reach an outcome is the belief that says, “I am not enough just as I am” This belief carries deep shame based energy and living in this vibration keeps us believing that in order to feel better we must fix something about ourselves or some external problem that continues to show up for us. What’s really happening? These so called "problems" are simply a reflection of the lack of self-love and acceptance that we are withholding from ourselves. We tell ourselves a really good story that says, “Once I reach a certain goal/outcome, then I will feel better or more at peace.” It doesn’t work this way. You can reach the end of your life with everything checked off your list, but if this list is being checked off with the intention to prove your worth, you are setting yourself up for tremendous disappointment. There truly is nothing to change and there is no place to reach. There is only unconditional self-love and self-acceptance to practice in every moment. What if this were true instead? What if we are already whole and complete just as we are and there really is nothing to fix?

What if every human being and every experience that was placed on our path was exactly what we needed so that we could experience profound expansion and growth?

What if we were all here to serve each others evolution even in what looks like the most challenging circumstances?

What if we stopped asking, “Why is this happening to me? and instead said, “thank you for this experience and what can I learn from it?”

What if every disappointment and perceived failure was an opportunity to dive deeply into the depths of our being so that we could stop listening to our mind and begin to hear the wisdom of our soul?

What if it’s all meant to unfold just as it is so that we could remember who we are and why we are here?

What if it’s all the so called mistakes, challenges and obstacles that actually lead us down the path that is most aligned with our soul?

What if life is just trying to get our attention so that we could awaken to our gifts that we once told ourselves was safer to bury within us?

What if it’s all happening to show us that we indeed have a choice to see that life is happening for us and not to us?

What if we simply forgot our brilliance and life is giving us the opportunity to wake up and remember who we really are? Why are challenges often necessary for growth? When life appears to be going smooth, we are not forced to go within. Instead we succumb to our old ways of being that are so far removed from the truth of who we are. We play by the rules and travel through life asleep and with an extremely limited mindset. We follow the crowd. We refrain from taking leaps and risks that will nurture our soul. We remain in a box that feels extremely comfortable and we settle for what life hands us because we don’t have a big enough reason to grow or change. We buy into the belief that we are the victim of our fated experiences and we close ourselves off to the destiny that is wanting to unfold for us. The truth is our struggles help us to remember that we are whole and complete exactly as we are.

Our challenges are simply reflecting back to us the parts of ourselves that we have been denying. They are also the catalyst to bringing our most precious gifts to the forefront as well as the doorway to stepping outside of the box and expressing our individual truth. The most important thing we can do is gift ourselves with the feeling of radical self-acceptance. We do this by shining a light on the aspects of ourselves that we have been judging often without even realizing we are doing so. Our job is not to fix anything, but instead to unconditionally love all the parts of ourselves that we have deemed unacceptable. There is nothing about us that is an accident. Our experiences of the past and present, our emotions, beliefs, judgments, fears and addictions all serve great purpose and when truly embraced and accepted, become the doorway to the path that is most aligned with who we came here to be. The world is in dire need of bringing light to all of who you and leading from the truth of who you are so that you may share the gifts that only you came here to share.
